Relaxation
What’s good after a day on skis
Winter sports and relaxation are ideal options for many of us to relax for a few days and escape the stress of everyday life. If you don’t want to choose one of the two options, it’s best to book both. A classic ski vacation combined with a stay in a beautiful hotel right on the slopes combines the best of both worlds.
During the day, sports enthusiasts can make their turns on the beautifully groomed slopes and enjoy the impressive mountain panorama. In the evening, the pleasantly warm water of a bathtub provides the perfect contrast to a physically demanding day in the powder snow. A quick dip in the pool and a soothing hour in the sauna are just the thing for tired muscles and ensure that the body recovers quickly.
Sauna & relax
A visit to the sauna is not only beneficial for tense muscles, but also promotes blood circulation and strengthens the immune system. On a long winter’s day outdoors, the skin can easily become chapped and the toes and fingers are often very cold. A soak in a sweat-inducing sauna quickly remedies these problems so that you can start the next day of your vacation full of energy.
Sweating & swimming
A visit to the sauna or a swim in a small indoor pool is a real treat for body and soul. The skin absorbs the treatment particularly well after a demanding day in the fresh air. A combination of sauna and then a change of temperature in the pool can also work wonders.
Water & soothing warmth
A hotel with an indoor pool for swimming or a sauna is the ideal place to end a strenuous day of skiing in harmony. Many hotels have designed their relaxation areas in such a way that visitors can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the impressive mountain landscape or the sugar-white ski slopes. The batteries are recharged in no time and it is a real treat to unwind.
Feast & enjoy
Relaxation and first-class cuisine go hand in hand. So of course a little feasting is a must on a winter vacation. In addition to the odd treat, a healthy and balanced diet should be a priority, especially for amateur athletes. Many first-class hotels are aware of these needs and offer their guests an impressive mix of delicious menus with high-quality, organic and regional products. This allows the body to recover quickly from the sporting activity and remain fit for the days of skiing ahead.
Glaciers as a guarantee for snow reliability
Due to the increasingly warmer climate, many ski resorts today cannot always guarantee snow, despite artificial snow-making facilities. If you want to be on the safe side, it is therefore best to book your skiing vacation on a glacier. There are eight different glacier ski areas in Austria that offer the coveted snow guarantee. The largest glacier ski area in Austria is the Stubai Glacier in picturesque Tyrol. Thanks to its altitude of 1,750 to 3,200 meters, the area can be skied or snowboarded safely from October to June.
Winter vacation de luxe – with short distances
Many hotels in ski resorts advertise a good location close to the slopes. However, if the ski lifts and slopes can only be reached by shuttle bus, these journeys already reduce the recreational value for many. Sports hotels in the immediate vicinity of the slopes are therefore a real luxury. Directly on the Stubai Glacier at an impressive 1,750 meters above sea level, for example, there is only the traditional alpine sports hotel Mutterberg.
It is a great advantage when ski enthusiasts only have a short walk to the glacier lift station. Skiers can use the lifts early in the morning without long travel times and make their first turns on the freshly groomed slopes.
There is no better way to start a day – and there is no better way to end a day – than with quick access to indulgent offers.
